Always remember being sent to the Grenadier Guards to install some comms for them on excercise. The fellas were all digging trenches whilst the CO, Major Sir double barrelled surname, was sitting in a deckchair, with his shooting stick, and two spaniels, directing operations, via a very subserviant sergeant 😂😂😂

This is a comment to the brave and coreouges men from Grange mouth in 1975.who lost their lives on the trent River..pat harkins only survivor remained a humble and guinien man.my old dad John Cowie. Ex sas .was ordered. Drive between pick up points..he had to live with that order till he died 5 years ago. He was a humble, loving, generous father, grandfather and great grandfather. He never forgot his company. To all in 131 commando. Thankyou. Andy.

Her Majesty’s Corps was amazing, I say was as I felt the standards dropped severely once females were allowed to join the ranks. Nothing against them being able to think on their feet but the sheer physical aspect of the job the women simply couldn’t do. We are front line (in front of the front line on occasion) we have to be at our strongest 100% of the time.

I was once part of Her Majesty’s Corps of Royal Engineers. And o can truly say that the Corps was far better before they started letting females join our ranks. This decision seriously brought down performance levels. I’ve been on bridging sights where the females have completely gave up, Sappers don’t give up!! Sappers do, can’t means won’t, won’t means jail. The M.O.D need to up the standards of the entire British Army once again. Back to 9:30 BFT, and 1hr 30min CFT. When I was leaving I overweight people coming into my Unit straight from training. This was unacceptable. There’s standards for a reason. Once a Sapper, always a Sapper🇬🇧🇬🇧

Direct combat infantry role troops would wear their tin hats. Troops like Engineers would wear soft lids whilst working. This continued up until the Kevlar helmet was introduced. Now is helmets all the time in the field.

23:56 wow! A harsh reality of war. Those young men who could not finish the March and had to be left behind due to the condition of their feet or of their fortitude, I'm labeled war dodgers because they would not be seen back in their units again until they had returned to England

Remember that the RE takes their fitness seriously too, so keep on top of that if you can? Good luck with basic training!!!
